It signifies that Matthew has met rigorous standards and possesses the knowledge, skills, and experience to lead and direct projects effectively. This certification is a testament to his ability to manage complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

MBA in Health Services Management Hofstra University, Frank G. Zarb School of Business: Matthew earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Services Management from Hofstra University, graduating with a commendable GPA of 3.7. This program equipped him with advanced knowledge in healthcare administration, strategic planning, and financial management. The curriculum covered critical areas such as healthcare policy, economics, and organizational behavior, preparing Matthew to tackle the unique challenges of the healthcare industry. His studies emphasized the importance of efficient healthcare delivery and patient-centered care, which he has successfully applied in his professional roles.

BBA in Operations and Information Management (OIM) University of Massachusetts Amherst, Isenberg School of Management: Matthew completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Operations and Information Management with a GPA of 3.6. This degree provided him with a solid foundation in managing business operations and leveraging information technology to improve organizational performance. The program covered key topics such as supply chain management, data analytics, and process optimization. Additionally, Matthew pursued minors in Classics (Archaeology) and Information Technology, which broadened his analytical skills and deepened his understanding of historical contexts and technological advancements.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers: The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification signifies Matthew's proficiency in the Lean Six Sigma methodology, which focuses on process improvement and waste reduction. This certification demonstrates his ability to identify inefficiencies, analyze data, and implement solutions that enhance productivity and quality. The training provided him with tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement initiatives, making him a valuable asset in any organization seeking operational excellence.

Expertise and Results

Rapid Diagnostic Pathway (RDP) for Prostate Cancer at Northwell: Matthew developed the RAPID Diagnostic Pathway (RDP) program and processes for prostate cancer at Northwell Health. This initiative streamlined the diagnostic process, improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency. By creating a structured pathway, Matthew ensured timely and accurate diagnoses, which is crucial for effective treatment planning.

Telemedicine Program Implementation: Recognizing the growing importance of telehealth during COVID in 2020, Matthew developed and implemented a departmental telemedicine program. He educated over 50 urologists on the new system, enabling them to provide remote consultations and follow-ups. This program not only expanded access to care but also enhanced patient convenience and satisfaction. This program built withing the department of Urology was shared with the Northwell health system which was used by all of our ambulatory practices.

Digital Paperwork Creation: During COVID in 2020, Matthew created temporary digital paperwork solutions for urology across 30+ Northwell ambulatory sites and the LIJVS Pre-Surgical Testing (PST) unit. This initiative reduced administrative burdens, minimized errors, and improved the overall efficiency of patient data management.

Urology Surgical Booking Team Management: As the manager of the urology surgical booking team, Matthew oversaw a team of seven members responsible for scheduling over 1,000 operating room hours. His leadership ensured optimal utilization of OR time, maximizing surgeon productivity and patient throughput.

Process Improvement and OR Block Committees: Matthew served as the administrative lead for the Process Improvement Committee and the OR Block Committee. In these roles, he facilitated discussions and implemented strategies to enhance operational workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall surgical efficiency.
